Crucial Blood Types Approaching Low Levels for Holiday Weekend
Blood drives are scheduled throughout the long holiday weekend and the American Red Cross New York-Penn Blood Services Region encourages the public to celebrate the national spirit embodied by Independence Day by donating blood to help save lives. The Red Cross is calling for eligible current and new donors to give blood to help strengthen the community blood supply. While all blood types are needed, the Region is issuing a specific plea for those donors with type O Negative blood, the universal blood type, which is currently being rationed to hospitals.   more...
