Where Does the Autumn Blaze Maple Grow?
North America is divided into ten climate zones. Successful gardeners know what their growing zone is when selecting plants for their landscaping needs, This doesn’t mean that they will not choose a plant outside of their climate zone, but that plant is not likely to be placed in a permanent location in the garden, but rather take up residency in a planter that can be moved indoors when the weather becomes too harsh. Trees are much hardier and can span a larger growing range. The autumn blaze maple for example, has a climate range from three to nine, which is one of the reasons it has become so popular; that and its brilliant red fall foliage. Of course, you will not likely find a Douglas Fir in Palm Springs, or a date palm growing in Seattle, so as you can see, the climate zones are an important consideration when choosing trees and other plants.
